Statement from our Metropolitan on Bombings in Sri Lanka
Our Paschal Joy is disturbed with the horrific news of the attack on
the faithful Christian community in Sri Lanka. It is indeed painful
that more than 200 precious lives were taken by violence and over 500
innocent people were injured on the most sacred day of the Christian
calendar. We condemn all acts of terror, as well as any act of
violence, fundamentalism and hatred.
The clergy and faithful of the Northeast American Diocese offers our
concern, and prays God will grant mercy to the departed, healing to
the injured, strength to the emergency personnel, and justice for all
of us pained by these horrific attacks.
May the peace which surpasses all understanding, which we experience
during this Paschal Season, surround each those affected by these
terrorist attacks.
Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos
Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church
