Rev. Dn. Paul Cherian to be Ordained to the Holy Priesthood (Kashisho)

Rev. Dn. Paul Alummoottil Cherian, will be ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at his home parish, St. Mary's Orthodox Church of India, Bronx, New York.

Deacon Paul has rendered his dedicated service and leadership in various capacities of the Diocese and Chruch such as, MGOCSM General Secretary, MGOCSM Missions Coordinator, coordinator for the MGOCSM of the Bronx/Westchester area, and youth delegate, representing the Malankara Church at the World Council of Churches.

Today Deacon Paul serves as a delegate, representing the Northeast American Diocese at the National Council of Churches and serves as a deacon of his home parish.

Deacon Paul is a graduate of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, Scarsdale, New York.

His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas, Diocesan Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese, will lead the Holy Ordination service in the presence of His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholvos, Assistant Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese.
