Very Reverend Peter E. Gillquist Passes Away...

Archpriest Peter E. Gillquist , well known evangelist, author, teacher, preacher, and lecturer, fell asleep in the Lord surrounded by his beloved wife and family members, on July 1, 2012. He was 73.

Father Peter, was instrumental in the reception of some 2000 former evangelicals into Orthodox Christianity in the late 1980s. He recently retired as the Director of the Department of Missions and Evangelism of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, after twenty five years of dedicated service.

Father Peter had been chairman of Conciliar Press. His numerous books include Love Is Now, The Physical Side of Being Spiritual, and Becoming Orthodox. He also served as project director of The Orthodox Study Bible.

His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan has sent a condolence letter to His Grace Bishop Anthony, Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo & the Midwest, expressing the prayer and solidarity of the clergy, and faithful of the Northeast American Diocese

May the memory of Archpriest Peter E. Gillquist be eternal!
