Holy Cross Indian Orthodox Mission Parish participating in the NYC CROP Hunger Walk

Holy Cross Indian Orthodox Mission Parish in Manhattan, NY is participating in the NYC CROP Hunger Walk on April 25, 2010.

The CROP Hunger Walk, an initiative supported the Church World Services, brings neighborhoods and communities all across America to take a bold stand against hunger in the world today.  Through this growing movement, the awareness and funds, for international and local relief and development are raised.

Holy Cross Mission Parish, an initiative of the Northeast American Diocese, has steadily experienced growth and participation from the young adults and students, in and around the New York City area.  With their monthly Divine Liturgies and charitable activities such as the CROP Walk, Holy Cross continues to bring those who have not been away from the Church, and those would like to be apart of the Church.

This is the 10th annual CROP Hunger Walk in NYC and the 1st time the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church will be represented!  Currently the team has 7 members from the NJ/NY area: Sharon Koshy, Sherin John, Sherine Kurien, Timble Mathews, Sumi Thomas, Tincy Thomas, and Sheela Thomas.  Please help the Holy Cross Team reach their fundraising goal by providing a donation through their team page: http://www.churchworldservice.org/site/TR/2010SpringCROPHungerWalk/General?team_id=39320&pg=team&fr_id=4901
