His Holiness' Apostolic Visit

On Tuesday, May 13, 2014 His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East & Malankara Metropolitan, arrived to New York.

His Holiness was received by His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan, along with priests, deacons and laity of the Diocese at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

His Holiness is on a brief Apostolic Visit for the consecration of the newly built St. Thomas Orthodox Church of Long Island, New York.

During His Holiness' brief visit, His Holiness celebrated Divine Liturgy at St. Thomas Diocesan Chapel In Muttontown, New York, for the Feast of the Holy Theotokos (Intercession for Harvest) . The Holy Qurbana was also a Liturgy of Thanksgiving to God, as His Holiness celebrated the 29th anniversary of His Holiness' consecration to the sacred episcopacy.

On behalf of the clergy and faithful of the Northeast American Diocese, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan, offered prayerful felicitations to His Holiness. His Holiness also received the prayerful felicitation of His Grace Dr. Mathews Mar Severios, Metropolitan, who also serves as the Secretary to the Holy Synod.

Many of our priests, and respected lay leaders, also were present on the occasion. May the Lord God grant wisdom, strength, and grace to His Holiness!

His Holiness will return back to Kerala, after leading the Rite of Consecration of St. Thomas Church
