Silver Jubilee Celebrations of St. Mary's Orthodox Church of Philadelphia
St. Mary’s Orthodox Church of Philadelphia (514 Devereaux Ave) is
celebrating its Silver Jubilee along with the annual feast of the
Dormition of St. Mary, commemorating the death, and glorification of
the Mother of our Lord on August 27 & 28, 2016.
By the abundant grace of God, the parish has greatly grown over the
years, since it was established on May 11, 1991 and is graciously
serving the spiritual needs of many Malankara Orthodox faithful within
and around the Philadelphia area under the blessed leadership of the
present vicar, Rev. Fr. Dr. Samuel K. Mathew.
The chief guest and celebrant for the Jubilee celebrations is His
Grace Dr. Joshua Mar Nicodimos, Metropolitan of Nilackal Diocese;
Assistant Metropolitan of Mavelikara Diocese. We are honored to have
His Grace, our former Vicar, to celebrate and glorify God alongside
his former parish members in the Northeast American Diocese.
It is with much humility and joy, the Vicar and parish members invite
you to be with us on both days (Saturday, August 27 & Sunday, August
28).
His Grace will also lead us to celebrate the Divine Liturgy on Sunday
assisted by Very Rev. K. Mathai Chor Episcopos and Rev. Fr. Eby
Paulose.
