OVBS Book Release & Training Camp
On May 4th, 2018, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese, released the 2018 Orthodox Vacation Bible School (OVBS) materials at Diocesan Chancery in Muttontown, New York. The first set of books to was given to the Reverend Father John Thomas, Vicar of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church of Jackson Heights, New York. The theme for OVBS 2018 is “God molds us” based onIsaiah 64:8.
All OVBS books, Songs and T-shirts, were developed specifically for the Northeast American Diocese. Music for the OVBS songs was orchestrated by Mr. Joseph Pappan and sung by talented children from across the Diocese. These materials will be used by OVBS units in both the Northeast American Diocese and Diocese of South-West America.
On Saturday, May 12th, 2018, a Training Camp will be held at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Linden, NJ (45 East Elm Street, Linden, NJ, 07036) from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm for all OVBS teachers and volunteers, to introduce all books and songs to teachers from across the Northeast American Diocese.
