Metropolitan Expresses Condolences to the Marthoma Diocese

 

 

On behalf of the Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, our Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos expressed his condolences to the Marthoma Diocese of North America & Europe on the passing of His Grace, the Most Reverend Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Vailya Metropolitan. His Grace was the longest-serving Bishop of the Indian Christian Church for over six decades.

In a letter to Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos, Episcopa, Metropolitan Nicholovos shared, " Thirumeni was known for his golden tongue, and also his golden heart which was experienced through his quick wit, humor, and philanthropy... there is no doubt he will receive his reward in the Heavenly Kingdom which never fades. "

His Grace Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Vailya Metropolitan served as the 20th Mar Thoma Metropolitan and Primate of the Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church from 1999 to 2007. He fell asleep in the Lord on the morning of May 5th. He was 103.
