Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center- 'Year in Review.'
This past year has been a testament of how God is using Holy
Transfiguration Retreat Center to transform the spiritual lives of our
people. To date, our Retreat Center has been able to facilitate the
strengthening, and renewal of over 2,000 lives from our Diocese alone.
It is evident from the various ministerial programs this past year,
Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center is truly an investment for the
present, and future of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in North
America. Check out the recently released 'Year in Review' from Holy
Transfiguration Retreat Center.
As we prepare to greet the new year with exciting programs for our
people, we know that our work, has not come to an end, rather it has
only begun. At this juncture, it is crucial that we continue working
together to invest, and seek opportunities to build up, and support
this sacred ministry.
In a recent a Kalpana to each parish in our Diocese, His Grace
Zachariah Mar Nicholovos offered his gratitude to the clergy and
faithful throughout the Diocese, towards the ministry of the Holy
Transfiguration Retreat Center. His Grace also reminded us: "It is
only through generous donations of Stewards like you, this sacred
ministry can be strengthened, and continue to be a place of
transfiguration for the people of our Diocese, and Church as a whole.
Through the blessed efforts of all of our clergy and faithful
together, we hope to pay off our outstanding loans by the 10th
anniversary of our Diocese in April 2019."
Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center is nestled away in Dalton,
Pennsylvania, which is just minutes outside of downtown Scranton. It
is enthroned on more than 300 sprawling acres, and includes a lake,
beautiful trees and rolling hills ideal for outdoor meditation. The
retreat center, includes a chapel, library, conference rooms,
classrooms and offices. There are two dormitory wings to accommodate
over 180 guests, and a gymnasium that comfortably seat 800 people.
Since May 2017, Holy Transfiguration has been fulfilling its sacred
mission: to be a great spiritual powerhouse for our Diocese, and the
Church as a whole - through purification, illumination, and
deification.
