By the Grace of God, the MGOCSM of the Northeast American Diocese hosted its annual Camp Sabro from August 7th to 10th at our Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center. Over 90 high school students and 39 volunteers from across the Northeast and Diocese of South West America gathered for a week of deepening our faith, making lifelong friendships, meaningful discussions, and experiencing the joy of Orthodox Christian community.
This year our youth were blessed with the presence of Rev. Dn. Toby John, the MGOCSM General Secretary of the Diocese of South-West America. Semmassen led inspiring sessions which catered towards equipping our youth with tools to strengthen their faith. In addition to these main speaker sessions, there were engaging workshops on communication, mental health and embracing our faith in a secular world led by Mrs. Aimee Thomson, Ms. Kripaya Varghese, and Rev. Dn. Roby Anthony. In addition to such sessions, and fun activities, the entire camp was centered around a life of prayer. The entire camp was a testament to God’s grace and mercy.
The MGOCSM is grateful to the clergy and adult volunteers who ensured our youth enjoyed the camp in a safe and sacred environment. The Camp Sabro Committee did an exceptional job in organizing a powerful camp which brought our youth back to Christ.
