The Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam of our Diocese has entered into its 40th year since its inception. There is indeed much for us to be thankful as our Diocese has experienced significant growth since then, with more parishes and faithful, which in turn has more ministerial demands.
There are few activities being planned for this year to mark this auspicious occasion. We are dedicating this year to the pioneer women of our Diocese, especially this ministry. We would like to honor our founding members this year on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at our St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church of Philadelphia (Unruh Avenue). In lieu of our annual conference, we will celebrate the rich contribution of these pioneer women to our Diocese through this vibrant ministry.Every woman who has been a member of our parish MMVS year since 1982 or prior to that, will be counted as a founding member and will be included in the list of honorees. All are encouraged to give the names of these women to the MMVS Vice President, Reverend Father Eby Paulose, before April 24, 2022.In order to make this a memorable thanksgiving celebration, we encourage you all to make note of this date.In addition to this, we wish to expand our charitable activities beyond the usual work that we do. Details of this can be seen in the attached flyer and kalpana.
The raffle tickets which have been distributed to our parishes, is a major way we support the ongoing ministry of the MMVS in our Diocese. Please participate in this, by purchasing at least one raffle book.August 2022 has been declared as Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam month and Sunday, August 21st as MMVS Day. All parishes in our Diocese are encouraged to engage in charitable activities within our local areas, and in India during this month.
