Metropolitan Participates in Ecumenical Service

Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos participated in an ecumenical service at St. Illuminator's Cathedral in Manhattan on Saturday, November 18, presided by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

The ecumenical service was organized by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan of the Eastern Prelacy, and was well participated by various other religious leaders. His Holiness delivered a powerful reflection at the conclusion of the service, highlighting that the Christian faith faces threats in the current world and emphasized the need to set aside religious issues inherited from the past. He advocated for adopting a common stance through ecumenical cooperation in response to movements that pose a threat to the Christian faith. Metropolitan Nicholovos conveyed the greetings of His Holiness Catholicos Mathews III of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, and the love of the clergy and faithful of the Northeast American Diocese.

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I is on a Pontifical Visit to the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church to continue his mission to revitalize Diasporan life through the various fields of activity of the Cilician Catholicosate prelacies. His Holiness Aram I, is the spiritual leader of the Holy See of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church.  The Catholicos is a celebrated leader and ecumenist of the Oriental Orthodox Church.
