Every Tuesday after Thanksgiving is known as 'Giving Tuesday', which is a global day of generosity. This year it will be on November 29th. For well over three decades, the MGOCSM of the Northeast American Diocese has strived to encourage our youth - to the life of holiness, as experienced in the Orthodox Church.

Today, more than ever, growing ideologies, and teachings contrary to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ are snatching and confusing our youth. Such teachings are making our young people either abandon or question their Orthodox faith. For the past several years we have made significant strides by strengthening and diversifying the ministry of the MGOCSM. Three examples are Winter Summit, our winter College Conference, Talmeedo, our young men's ministry, and Missions, which invites our youth to a life of service.
One of the biggest challenges in ensuring the MGOCSM can inspire and strengthen our youth through such meaningful ministries is financial funding. In the past, such ministries, including area-based ministries, would be charged with the great task to raise thousands of dollars for these ministries. As the MGOCSM continued to grow and make an impact, so did the demand for this ministry, which included the expenses to successfully reach out to our youth. Due to such a great demand placed on these young high schoolers and college students, many of these leaders stop serving the Church after their term, or they have distanced themselves from the life of the Church entirely. This was largely due to burnout by the great burden placed on our young youth leaders.
The youth are the pillars of the Church, who hold up the church. If we do not offer our generous and prayerful support to our youth through the MGOCSM, the Church will collapse. We seek your prayerful, and generous support to achieve this goal. Click here to donate: www.bit.ly/SupportMGOCSM
In order to address this pressing concern, the MGOCSM Council of our Diocese, with the prayerful support and blessing of our Diocesan Metropolitan, is reaching out to our clergy, MGOCSM Alumni, parents, and well-wishers will support the ministries of the MGOCSM of our Diocese. This Giving Tuesday campaign will financially support the following ministries of the MGOCSM: MGOCSM Missions, Winter Summit, Talmeedo, High School Summer Camp, College Summer Camp, and our area ministry events happening in the six areas of our Diocese. Your generous, tax-exempt donations will 100% support the ministry of the MGOCSM, so we can continue to do meaningful youth ministry in our Diocese. It is now, more than ever, the MGOCSM of our Diocese needs your support in fulfilling our sacred responsibility to the youth of our Diocese.
