Reception for His Holiness the Catholicos

On Tuesday, September 27, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos hosted a luncheon in honor of His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, during his first Apostolic Visit to our Diocese. 
His Holiness received fraternal greetings from the heads of the sister Oriental Orthodox Churches, such as His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Holy See of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church, and other leaders of the Orthodox Church here in the United States.
The Catholicos addressed the church leaders citing the importance of strengthening our unity and fellowship during challenging times.  His Holiness commended the work of Metropolitan Nicholovos in creating meaningful ways to cultivate strong ties with our fellow Orthodox Churches which include the Oriental Orthodox Churches.   

Among the religious dignitaries present were His Beatitude Archbishop Tikhon, Primate of the Orthodox Church; His Eminence Archbishop Michael, of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey of the Orthodox Church in America, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church, His Eminence Archbishop Vicken, Diocesan Legate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of Ameria, Very Rev. Fr. Alexander Rentel, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, Rev. Protopresbyter Dr. Nicolas Kazarian, Director of Ecumenical Relations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, Pastor of St. Illuminator’s Cathedral in New York City.
