His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos Metropolitan inaugurated the registration for the 2023 Family and Youth Conference on Saturday, January 2023 by accepting the first registration and sponsorship from Mr. Thomas Koshy of St. George Orthodox Church of Port Chester, NY. At the kick-off meeting held at the Diocesan headquarters in Muttontown, NY on Saturday, January 7, Mar Nicholovos expressed his joy to see the enthusiastic support from the clergy and laity for the first Family and Youth Conference that’s being held after the devastating pandemic that shook the world.
Fr Sunny Joseph, Conference Director welcomed the gathering that included several clergy, Church Managing Committee members, Diocesan Council members and several sponsors.
Mr. Cheriyan Perumal, Conference Secretary briefed the audience about the planning for the conference. The conference will be held from July 12 through 15, 2023 at the Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center (HTRC) of the Northeast American Diocese. The retreat center is on a 300-acre scenic property located at 1000 Seminary Road, Dalton, PA, which is around two hours from New York City and Philadelphia.
Mr. Mathew Joshua, Conference Treasurer and Mr. Saji Pothen, Finance Manager spoke about the finances and fundraising plans. Mrs. Susan John Varughese (Souvenir Editor) spoke about the plans for publishing the souvenir to commemorate the event. Several members from the audience pledged their financial support by becoming Platinum, Gold or Silver sponsors. The organizers expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support from Mr. Thomas Koshy (HTRC Advisory Board Member and Gold Sponsor) and all the other sponsors, and requested continuing support from every parish in the Northeast America and Canada.
