Sunday School Talent Fest Celebrated

The Northeast American Diocese Sunday School Talent Fest was held on Saturday, October 26 2024, at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church in Philadelphia, bringing together representatives from churches across the diocese. The event was blessed with the presence of several clergy members, including Rev. Fr. M. K. Kuriakose, Rev. Fr. John Thomas, Rev. Fr. Tojo Baby, and Rev. Fr. Vijay Thomas.

The day began with a hearty breakfast, followed by morning prayers and a warm welcome from Rev. Fr. Dr. Timothy Thomas, the Director of the Sunday School Ministry. The Group Song competition, titled “Mabartho,” featured performances from fourteen Sunday School choirs singing liturgical songs both in English and Malayalam, each glorifying God through their beautiful renditions. After the competition, participants gathered for noon prayers and lunch.

In the afternoon, the lighting of the lamp ceremony by clergy and Sunday School Board members marked the start of the next session. Dr. Shiny Raju, the Talent Show Coordinator, gave the opening remarks and Mrs. Aju Tharian, the Sunday School Secretary welcomed everyone to “Charisma 2024,” showcasing ten churches that presented a variety of group dances and skits, creating an electric atmosphere.

Mr. John Jacob, the Treasurer, expressed gratitude in his vote of thanks to all those who worked diligently to make the event a success. The day concluded with the announcement of results and prize distributions for the Diocesan Bible Quiz, Centralized Evaluations, Group Song (Mabartho) Competition, and the Assigned Competitions, wrapping up with a closing prayer and benediction.
