Talmeedo

The Northeast American Diocese has started a movement - calling men from all ages, all walks of life, and all vocations - to join a movement for our sons and daughters, for our girlfriends, for our wives - for ourselves - to transform ourselves to be who we are called to be - HOLY - to be Men for Christ.

Talmeedo - a Syriac word meaning disciple - is a new ministry of our Diocese designed to dedicate/consecrate men to Christ - so we can ensure the world does not define who we are called to be, but to align ourselves to what Christ has called us to be. Talmeedo ministry looks to the examples of the Holy Apostles, men with different characteristics, from different walks of life, with different personalities, as they permitted Christ to transform them into extrardinary men.

Being an Orthodox Christian man in today's world is tough. There are struggles, addictions, challenges, and temptations, which can make us stray from Christ, ruin relationships, or even worse - destroy us and those around us. This ministry, will help strengthen our men and edify them a - teenager, college student, a single guy, a single parent, a professional, a young husband, a new father, or a struggling parent.

Talmeedo has monthly men’s fellowships the first Friday of every month in Philadelphia, and the Brooklyn/Queens/Long Island area, where fruitful discussion and comradery is strengthened. In addition to the monthly fellowships, there are seminars, and conferences that take place which address the struggles and concerns of men. A popular ministry of Talmeedo has also been our annual summer retreat at our Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center.

Join the movement across the Diocese. As men from all ages, and backgrounds have decided to take a stand and to answer the call on who we are truly called to be as - sons, husbands, fathers, brothers - Men for Christ.
