The Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church officially unveiled the logo of its Acolytes Guild on November 2, 2026, on the blessed Feast of St. Gregorios of Parumala. The logo was formally released by His Eminence Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese, at the Diocesan Chancery.
The unveiling marks an important step in strengthening the ministry of altar servers throughout the Diocese, fostering a deeper understanding of the sacred responsibilities associated with service in the Holy Altar.
During the occasion, Rev. Fr. Jerry Varghese, Director of the Diocesan Acolytes Guild, met with the Metropolitan and shared his vision and proposed initiatives for the coming year. These plans focus on cultivating greater reverence for the Holy Altar, strengthening liturgical knowledge and discipline, encouraging spiritual formation, and inspiring young acolytes to embrace their service as a sacred calling within the life of the Church.
The Acolytes Guild seeks to nurture a generation of dedicated altar servers who understand that their ministry extends beyond the performance of liturgical duties and is rooted in a life of prayer, humility, obedience, and devotion to Christ and His Holy Church.
The release of the logo on the Feast of St. Gregorios of Parumala carries special spiritual significance, recalling the saint's exemplary life of holiness, prayer, and faithful service to God.
Under the pastoral guidance and blessing of Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, and through the leadership of Rev. Fr. Jerry Varghese, the Acolytes Guild looks forward to strengthening fellowship, formation, and excellence in liturgical service among acolytes across the Northeast American Diocese.
