With faith in Christ and in hope of the resurrection, we share the sad news that Mrs. Susy George, the mother of our Diocesan Metropolitan, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, fell asleep in the Lord today in Kerala, India. She was 96.
Mrs Susy George, wife of the late PG George Mepral Poothicote, daughter of the late MC Pothan Manamel (Senior) passed away at the age of 96.
She is survived by her children, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan of Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Ranjini Elizabeth George, Advocate P. G. Mathew Manjeri, Advocate George Pothan Kalpetta and George G Poothicote, Advocate, High Court of Kerala.
Children in law: Dr P. P. George Pynadath (UK), Asha Elizabeth (Inchikalayil), Sunu Mary (Parambilpeedika), and Nisha Anna(Padinjarekara).
Mrs. Susy George was the speaker of Malabar Christian College, Calicut during 1947-48 and she actively participated as a student leader in the freedom struggle.

The newly departed will be brought to the family home for prayer and vigil on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 4PM.
Funeral Services at the home will begin at 11AM on Friday, May 12,2023. Rite of Burial will be on the same at St. John's Orthodox Vailya Pally, Mepral, at 12PM.
