With faith in Christ and in the hope of resurrection, we share the sad news the younger brother of our Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Mr. George G. Poothicote, lovingly known as Kochumon, has fallen asleep in the Lord on July 31st, 2025. He was 58 years old.
Kochumon was the beloved son of the Late P. G. George and the Late Susy George (Poothicote Puthenpurayil), loving husband to Nisha, and dear father to Susy & Joseph and Kurian.
Public viewing will take place at the Clubhouse of Chakolas Habitat, Thevara, on Sunday, 3rd August, between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM. Funeral service will be held on Monday, 4th August, beginning at 2:00 PM at the Poothicote Puthenpurayil family residence at Mepral, followed by the Burial Service at 3:00 PM at St. John’s Orthodox Vailya Pally in Mepral, Kerala, India.
The clergy and faithful of the Northeast American Diocese offer our sincere condolences and prayers to our beloved Thirumeni and his family during this time of grief. Let us all keep the departed soul and family in our prayers.
