Metropolitan Expresses Condolences to the Orthodox Church in America

His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos expressed his condolences to His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, on the falling asleep of His Beatitude Metropolitan Theodosius.

Metropolitan Theodosius was elected as Primate of the Orthodox Church in America in October 1977. It was during Metropolitan Theodosius’ tenure, various ministry units were established which made a significant impact in the life of this autocephalous Orthodox Church.

In Metropolitan Nicholovos' letter to Metropolitan Tikhon, he shared, "Your Beatitude, during this difficult time, we assure you of our spiritual closeness, remembering you and your flock, in our prayers."

Metropolitan Theodosius retired as the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America in July 2002 with over two decades of dedicated service. His Beatitude fell asleep in the Lord on Monday morning, October 19, 2020.
