Metropolitan hosts Seminarians at Chancery

On Friday, January 26th, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos welcomed Seminarians of the Malankara Church to the Chancery of the Northeast American Diocese for dinner and fellowship.
The evening began with Vespers & Compline led by the Metropolitan in Saint Thomas Diocesan Chapel.  Following prayer, a tour of the Chancery was offered to the theological students from St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, and St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary.
Fellowship continued over dinner with Nicholovos Thirumeni, who addressed questions and concerns raised by the students, related to the needs of the Malankara Church in North America.  Students also shared with Thirumeni, on their own theological and pastoral formation while in seminary.
As the evening came to an end, Thirumeni shared his great joy that this annual gathering of seminary students could be restarted after the COVID-19 pandemic.  Metropolitan Mar Nicholovos assured all the students of his continued prayers and support during their formative time in Seminary.
There are currently over fifteen seminary students of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church studying at both St. Vladimir's and St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminaries.  Of these, the Northeast American Diocese has three Master of Divinity students, and one Master of Arts student enrolled at St. Vladimir's Seminary, and three Master of Divinity students studying at St. Tikhons' Seminary.
