MGOCSM of the Diocese Announces Winter Summit 2026

The MGOCSM of the Northeast American Diocese is pleased to announce Winter Summit 2026, scheduled for December 27–30, 2026. This annual spiritual gathering seeks to inspire and equip young Orthodox Christians to deepen their relationship with Christ, strengthen their identity in the Orthodox faith, and courageously witness to the Gospel in today's world.

This year's summit will center on the thought-provoking theme, “Who Holds Your Crown?”, drawing inspiration from St. Paul's exhortation in Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

At a time when young people face increasing pressures from social expectations, popular culture, and competing definitions of identity and success, Winter Summit 2026 invites participants to reflect on a fundamental question: Who truly governs our lives—Christ or the world around us?

Under the leadership of our Diocesan Metropolitan, there will be spiritual reflections, engaging discussions, fellowship, and opportunities for personal growth, the summit will encourage participants to examine their priorities, embrace their calling as children of God, and discover what it means to live faithfully as Orthodox Christians in contemporary society.

Rev. Fr. Shawn Thomas will serve as the featured speaker, guiding participants through the summit's central theme and challenging them to cultivate a faith that is not merely inherited, but personally embraced and actively lived.

More than a seasonal gathering, Winter Summit represents the Diocese's continuing commitment to nurturing a generation of our college students who are spiritually grounded, confident in their identity, and prepared to serve Christ and His Church. The summit also provides an opportunity for young people from across the Diocese to build meaningful friendships, strengthen their sense of belonging, and experience the richness of Orthodox Christian fellowship.
