The Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is pleased to announce that the delegates of the Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam (MMVS) of the Diocese unanimously agreed to donate $50,000 toward the Medical Mission of the Idukki Diocese during the MMVS Delegates Meeting held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center. These funds were raised through the sale of the raffle tickets, which is the sole source that enables the NEAD MMVS to partake in such charitable causes. The samajam truly appreciates its members for their active participation in the raffle ticket sales fundraiser and prays for their continued support. This will surely be a stepping stone for future noteworthy causes.
The generous contribution reflects the continued commitment of the women of the Diocese toward the healing and compassionate ministries of the Church, especially in supporting initiatives that serve the poor, vulnerable, and underserved communities. The delegates prayerfully affirmed their desire to strengthen the medical outreach efforts being carried out in the high-range regions of Idukki through this offering of love and service.
The Medical Mission of the Idukki Diocese was established under the visionary leadership of His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas, Metropolitan, whose long standing dedication to holistic ministry and care for the marginalized has become a beacon of hope for many families throughout the region. Through medical camps, healthcare assistance, charitable outreach, and other initiatives, the mission continues to embody the healing ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos commended the Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam for their steadfast witness of faith, charity, and sacrificial giving. The delegates also reflected the vital role of women in advancing the mission of the Church through prayer, fellowship, and acts of mercy.
