At a Conference kick-off meeting held at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church located at 987 Elmont Rd, North Valley Stream, NY, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos Metropolitan announced the theme for the much-awaited Family and Youth Conference-2023. The theme is, ‘I will pour out my spirit on all flesh,” which is based on Joel 2:28
The conference will be held from July 12 through 15, 2023 at the Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center (HTRC) of the Northeast American Diocese.
His Grace Abraham Mar Stephanos, Metropolitan of Europe and Africa will be the keynote speaker for the conference. Rev. Fr. Mat Alexander, Youth Minister of the Diocese of Southwest America will lead the sessions for the youth. There will be various sessions aimed at spiritual enrichment for different age groups.
Mr. Cheriyan Perumal, Conference Secretary briefed the audience about the general arrangements for the conference. Mr. Jobi John, Diocesan Council member spoke about the accommodation for the four-day event. Members have the option to stay at HTRC, or at a preferred hotel, or attend as day-scholars.
Mr. Mathew Joshua, Conference Treasurer and Mr. Saji Pothen, Finance Manager spoke about the finances and fundraising plans. Mrs. Susan John Varughese (Souvenir Editor) spoke about the plans for publishing the souvenir to commemorate the event. Several members from the audience pledged their financial support by becoming sponsors.
