Northeast American Diocese Holds Annual Diocesan Assembly

The Annual Diocesan Assembly of the Northeast American Diocese was convened on Saturday, June 20, 2026, under the chairmanship of Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos at St. Thomas Orthodox Church in Levittown, New York.

The Assembly brought together clergy and lay delegates from across the Diocese for a day of prayer, fellowship, and deliberation on matters concerning the life and mission of the Diocese.

During the proceedings, delegates reviewed and approved the financial accounts for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. The proposed budget for the 2026–2027 fiscal year was also presented and reviewed, providing a framework for the continued growth and ministry of the Diocese in the coming year.

A significant milestone for the Diocese was the unanimous approval of the Clergy Pension Plan as presented by the Diocesan Council. The Assembly recognized the importance of establishing a sustainable and comprehensive pension program that will provide long-term support and security for the clergy who faithfully serve the Diocese. The approval of the plan marks an important step in strengthening the care and well-being of the clergy and their families.

The Assembly also received a brief update regarding ongoing renovation and development efforts at Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center. Delegates were informed of recent improvements as well as future plans aimed at enhancing the Retreat Center’s facilities and expanding its capacity to serve as a vibrant hub for the spiritual, educational, and ministry activities of the Diocese.

In his remarks, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos expressed gratitude to the clergy, delegates, and faithful for their continued dedication and stewardship. He encouraged all present to remain committed to the mission of the Church, working together to strengthen parish life, foster spiritual growth, and build upon the many blessings God has bestowed upon the Diocese.

The Assembly concluded with thanksgiving to Almighty God for His guidance and blessings upon the Northeast American Diocese and prayers for the continued growth and vitality of its ministries.
