“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the humble in spirit.”
With hearts weighed heavily by sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by the tragic flash floods that struck Central Texas, particularly the Hill Country region, on July 4–5, 2025. This disaster — unleashing historic rainfall that caused the Guadalupe River to rise more than 20–29 feet in under two hours, sweeping through summer camps like Camp Mystic—has claimed dozens of lives, including children, and left many missing.
We offer our prayers for the families mourning the loss of loved ones, and for the communities enduring much loss and devastation. In this time of crisis we call upon the faithful to pray fervently for the safe recovery of those who are still missing, and all the emergency personnel who are seeking to assist the Central Texas community at this time.
May our prayers uplift the grieving, our hands serve the afflicted, and our voices call for justice and preventative stewardship of God’s creation.
